Sun Microsystems has defined three Java platforms, each of which addresses the needs of different computing environments: J2EE(Java 2 Enterprise Edition) refers to the specs that govern the use of java in distributed server side environments, J2SE (Java 2 Standard Edition) addresses the needs of the desktop, J2ME targets the extremely diverse array of embedded devices. Java Midlet is one kind of J2ME application that runs on mobile phones.

My Bachelor paper consist of two parts. In the first part, I will introduce all the theoretical things such like the definition of configuration, profile, how can we develop a Java Midlet in our computer, how can we deploy it, which classes can we use and what do they look like. In the second part, I will develop a real Midlet that can show google map on our cell phone and do some basic functions such like navigation, zoom in, zoom out.
